50th Anniversary of Presidency MARCH and MEETING

Dr Alexander Cachia Zammit celebrates 50th year as President of the Beland Band
On Sunday 4th July 2010 the Beland Band Club re-enacted the election of Dr Alexander Cachia Zammit on 27th March 1960. At 9am, the Beland Band played festive marches, from the Band Club to "Misrah Dicembru 13", escorting Dr Cachia Zammit to the Beland Band Club, where an Extraordinary General Meeting was held. During the meeting, Mr Frans Gouder, ex-secretary of the Beland Band Club read the meeting minutes he had written 50 years back.

Mr Julio Pace, address Dr Cachia Zammit and the members present as vice president of the Beland Band Club, outlining the president's work through these years, and sharing personal thoughts about this memorable occasion. Mr Anton Aquilina, current secretary addressed the meeting too, whilst thanking Dr Cachia Zammit for the great contribution he has given to the Beland Band Club.

At end of the meeting, the President gave souvenier gifts to all memebers of the Beland Administrative Committee, Mr Frans Gouder and Mr Agius (committe member 50 years ago), and presented a new bass drum for the Band.
